Let's Beat It - 1984

In 1984, some of the biggest superstars in pop teamed up to donate their hits to a K-tel collection called Let's Beat It. A portion of the proceeds were donated to the TJ Martell Foundation for Leukemia & Cancer Research, which was a charity created by the music industry. God knows how much money made it to whom, but the fact that artists like Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney, Olivia Newton-John, Billy Joel, The Police and others would license their tunes for good (and someone else's profit) was still a rarity in 1984.

Join us tomorrow, Thursday 1/9/14 at 2pm est as we play those early 80s smashes from the top of the A-side to the bottom of the B-side.
